Puppy adventures begin!

Pleasant day so far. Went for a long walk/run around the property with Goldie and Besa. I looked at a few places where there is no trail to see where there should be.
There are also a couple trails I need to get rid of. Ones which lead other people I don’t know into and across my property.
Coffee and avocado on the porch for breakfast.

Last night a puppy crawled out of the den enclosure I made. The he laid there whining and confused. :)
I improved it today.

This morning I once again sat with each puppy on my lap. They are so tiny and look at me with little eyes wondering who I am. I want them to know me. One licked my hand today and another nibbled my beard. (Or what is left of my beard.)
Then I put them all outside to “play” for a while. They crawl about a foot and then are tired out. They don’t walk yet.
They don’t really know what is going on much except that milk comes from mom.
I will put them out a couple times a day for 15 minutes. They seem to like it for a while though sometimes feel confused and while. The monks of new skete say this sort of mild stress is good for their biological development.

Soon I will try to teach them about dog food.

Puppies

While I was in DF… I got a message from the rancho… that my golden retriever Goldie had three little puppies!

Xan and Rocio took care of them till I got home.
They are very cute!

The father is a sneaky little black lab mix. No one likes that dog. Too bad Solovino wasn’t the father.

Two females, one male. Eyes not open yet.
They are sort of not really dogs yet. More like little moles. They can’t hardly even roll over. They while a little and squirm crawl to get milk from momma.
Goldie seems to be taking ok care of them though she was sitting on one at one point while it squacked. I went and moved her. Another time one had crawled out of the bed and was lost on the cold floor crying. Goldie just sat there watching. hmmm…

I let them sit on my belly while I read and yesterday I spit on the so they know my scent.

Last night one of them did open its eyes briefly but didn’t seem to see much.

Naming: I am in no rush to name them… I think I might call them shadow warriors.
The male has a large white mark on his chest.
The large female has a small white chest marking
The small female has some cute light brown markings.

Unbilicals healing well.
